Terms of Use
This is a personal site describing Paul Bennett's work. Reading it, or writing through the contact form, does not engage him — and nothing here is advice you should act on.
1. Scope
These terms govern your use of thepaulbennett.com and its
pages. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Napper, the private application at /napper, has its own separate terms and privacy policy.
2. No advice, and no engagement
Nothing on this site is professional advice. The descriptions of past work, industry views, and areas of focus are general information about what Paul does. They are not strategic, financial, legal, investment, or tax advice, they are not tailored to your circumstances, and you should not act on them without taking proper advice of your own.
Sending a message does not engage Paul. No advisory, consulting, agency, partnership, employment, or fiduciary relationship is created by your using this site or by your writing through the contact form. An engagement begins only under a separate written agreement, signed by both sides.
3. What you send is not confidential
Please do not send confidential, privileged, or commercially sensitive material through the contact form. Because no relationship exists yet, nothing you send is treated as confidential, and no duty of confidentiality or non-use arises from your having sent it.
If Paul is already advising a competitor, or later comes to, receiving your unsolicited message does not prevent that. Keep the first message to the shape of the conversation you would like to have, and save the substance for a call under terms you have both agreed.
4. Accuracy and currency
The site is maintained casually rather than continuously. Roles, engagements, and affiliations change, and a page may be out of date at the moment you read it. Nothing here is a representation that a described engagement is current.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the contact form to send spam, marketing, or bulk solicitations.
- Submit anything unlawful, defamatory, or infringing.
- Attempt to circumvent the bot check, or automate submissions.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the site or its infrastructure.
- Scrape the site at a volume that interferes with its operation.
Good-faith reports of security issues are welcome at cicero@cicerolearning.com. Reporting a genuine issue is welcome; exploiting one is not.
6. Intellectual property
The text, design, code, and layout of this site belong to Paul Bennett. You may read it, link to it, and quote briefly from it with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale, or reuse its design or code, without permission.
Third-party names and marks that appear here — the organisations described on the site — belong to their respective owners and are used to describe Paul's work with them, not to imply endorsement of this site.
7. External links
The site links to organisations Paul works with and to third-party services. Those sites are not under his control, and he is not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.
8. Availability
The site is provided as-is and as-available. It may be changed, taken down, or interrupted at any time without notice. There is no commitment to continued availability, and no undertaking that the contact form will deliver any particular message.
9. No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, this site is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paul Bennett is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of this site or from anything you read on it — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, and whether or not the possibility of such loss was known.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11. Privacy
What the site collects and who processes it is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Changes
These terms may be updated. When they are, the "last updated" date above changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
